Centrum för byggnadsminnesvård (Center for restoration of historical buildings), Gysinge, Sandviken, Gästrikland, Sverige (Sweden).

This place is to educate on the proper restoration and renovation of old buildings, using old methods and materials. You can take courses here and buy supplies, from old paintrecipes to fabric, nails, and wall paper in old design. Some parts of the buildings are in progress renovations to show how you can keep a lot of the old feel and still have an updated house to live in and love.

CMC DESIGNS in SECOND LIFE

Chuckmatrix Clip is a wonderful artist on the Second Life grid. I found his art at the Happy Clam Island's art gallery one evening last year.

It's funny how I was drawn in by a simple colored pencil illustration of a river flowing and disappearing around the bend surrounded by trees.

There was a light and dark feeling to it. The river so dark, the trees almost forbidding and yet, around the bend, was the glorious light of the sun. It was a description of my journey here in Second Life.

His other work was much darker and I thought he was a much older person. Instead, I discovered a very young artist emerging. His work is wonderful and his abilities to execute his vision made me a fan.

His CMC Designs Art Gallery is a wonderful collection of his 3-dimensional art sculptures and also his 2-dimensional illustrations. Both mediums are thoughtful and soulful.

Visit his gallery with a friend or lover. The "Love Defined Series" will remind you of your heart and your passion.

Step 5: Continue satin stitch until design is complete.

The Needle'n Thread video tutorial on satin stitch will be handy here. I use a backstitch to outline the shape I'm about to fill in, and then I use the satin stitch (without any filler) to fill in the shape.

It might be best to alternate colors here.

blogged.

Design blatantly stolen from etsy/spinthread's peacock fan no 2.
